Yuki Tsunoda Opens Up on Films, Music, and His Bond With Pierre Gasly

Yuki Tsunoda has given a rare, personal interview away from the timing screens, speaking candidly about the films that shape his outlook, the music that helps him unwind, and his friendship with fellow driver Pierre Gasly. The conversation took place during a busy Belgian Grand Prix weekend, with Red Bull granting access for an intimate look at the man behind the helmet.

A Film That Left a Mark

Tsunoda named American Sniper as the film that stayed with him most, saying its raw emotional weight shifted how he thinks about conflict. He also credited action star Jason Statham as a major influence, praising both his on-screen martial arts skill and his down-to-earth nature off camera. The Japanese driver even floated the idea of a Formula 1 film sequel featuring Statham, blending Hollywood drama with racetrack politics.

Music, Recovery and Racing Ambitions

Away from the track, Tsunoda unwinds to artists including Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber and Keith Urban, alongside Japanese favourite Vondi. Despite currently being without a race seat, he says he trains daily to stay ready for any opportunity, drawing on five years of physical conditioning.

Life Off Track With Pierre Gasly

Living near Gasly in Milan, Tsunoda described padel matches and the occasional karaoke night as part of their friendship, alongside his own love of exploring the city’s restaurants and nature spots.
