A Ferrari Turnaround Nobody Predicted

Just a week after struggling with pace in Austria, Ferrari’s upgraded power unit looked transformed in Friday’s cooler, drier conditions. Hamilton himself admitted disbelief at the turnaround, while championship leader Kimi Antonelli — who narrowly missed out on pole — called it “an incredible step forward” for the Scuderia.
Red Bull and McLaren React

Max Verstappen qualified a solid third, cautiously optimistic about race pace, while McLaren endured a disappointing session, with both Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris reporting a lack of grip. Team boss Zak Brown also moved to shut down rumours linking Verstappen to a future McLaren seat.
